About

My wife has a blog, The Panama Adventure, and I enjoy seeing her posts. She has a lot on her plate and If I wanted to be able to help out I needed to know more about blogging, SO…I thought I should start a blog also to see what has to be done and how to do it. I’m starting today, and little by little I hope to learn some things that may help her and entertain anyone who drops in… Thanks for looking!

  2. Yippee! I’ve been following your wife’s blog for awhile now and was delighted when she posted a link to your blog! Reading both of your blogs is a great balance of fun, informative and fantastic photos ! My husband and I are very close to making our move to Boquete so I look forward to meeting you both someday soon! And we are most certainly running ‘To’ not running ‘From’! Love to hear about how your both integrating yourselves into the neighborhood culture rather than cloistering yourselves in a gringo only community. We plan to steer clear of anything remotely like that. Keep writing! I’m enjoying reading! 😄 Cheers!

    • Hi, pleased to meet you! Your story sounds familiar, fixing the house up to get the best price and doing all the other planning that is necessary for such a big step. Kris loves it here (so does my Ma and I) and she wants to show off David to anyone interested. We see more gringos daily, and more will be arriving when the word spreads and folks look for new places to live. Hang in there, you can do it! “How do you eat an elephant?” One bite at a time. 3. Thanks for all the info you and your wife post on your blogs. And sorry for posting this here. Please feel free to delete it or move it.

Our 3rd trip to David is next week, and one thing on our list is looking at dentists. My wife needs implants done (later, not on this trip), and we have a friend in David that gave us a name of a dentist in Volcan. Would you recommend your dentist? At this stage, we’ll just be doing drive-bys. My wife doesn’t want to interview by telephone and then find out the dentist office is a shed out back.

    • Yes, we have used a dentist here and are very happy with service and price. I mentioned him in a post, you can do a search and see what I said about him. Glad you enjoy the blogs!

  4. Dear findingmyselfinpanama,

My name is Joyce and I work for ExpatFinder.com.
ExpatFinder.com is a free one stop website for people preparing to move or working and living overseas. We provide a myriad of services for expatriates and we have over 2,000 articles to help and support the people moving around the world and we are now creating an interview section to help the expats with real life experiences!
We quite enjoy your blog about living in Panama, it is very interesting and informative. Would it be possible to interview you to further share some of your tips and feature some of your first hand experience as an Expat and your interview will be published on our Expat Interview section as a guide for our expat readers. The questions are mainly about the day to day lifestyle of an expat. If it would be possible, could you also send some photographs that we can use?
Of course, if you accept, we can add a link to your blog or some of your website.
The questions are enclosed, feel free to respond freely. You can return the doc with your answers if you accept this invitation.
Thanks in advance and do let me know if you prefer other means to conduct this interview and we would be happy to accommodate your terms.

    Best regards,
    Joyce

    • Hi Joyce,
I believe that my wife Kris was interviewed by Expats- I would be willing also. I think I may have some photos to
      send. Thanks for contacting me.

      Best,
      Joel
